# Enable SEPA Plan Support

> Enable the Firmhouse SEPA Plan Support app embed when you offer local payment methods for Shopify subscriptions.

Enable **SEPA Plan Support** when you offer local payment methods for Firmhouse subscriptions on Shopify. This includes iDEAL | Wero, Bancontact, Pay by Bank, Trustly, and other supported local payment methods.

## When to enable it

Enable the app embed when your store accepts local payment methods for subscriptions. Keep it enabled whether you use the Checkout Button Injector, the Shopify Plus Local Payment Method Switcher, or a supported custom cart integration.

You do not need SEPA Plan Support when your Shopify subscriptions only use the regular credit card or PayPal subscription checkout.

## Enable the app embed

1. In Shopify Admin, go to **Online Store > Themes**.
2. Click **Customize** for the active theme.
3. Open **App embeds**.
4. Enable **SEPA Plan Support**.
5. Keep the default settings.
6. Click **Save**.

Enable the app embed separately in every published or preview theme that you use for checkout testing.

## Complete the local-payment setup

* On a non-Shopify Plus store, also configure the [Checkout Button Injector](/configure/shopify/checkout-button-injector).
* On Shopify Plus, use the Local Payment Method Switcher in the checkout editor.
* If you use a third-party cart drawer, check the [Compatible Shopify plugins](/explained/compatible-shopify-plugins) guide for any additional setup.

After saving, test a subscription checkout with a local payment method on the storefront.

## Troubleshooting

If local-payment checkout is not available:

1. Confirm that **SEPA Plan Support** is enabled on the active theme.
2. Confirm that you clicked **Save** after enabling it.
3. Check that the subscription product and local payment methods are configured by following [Set up local payment methods on Shopify](/shopify/setup-local-payment-methods).
