You can customize the copy in Customer Portal templates for every language enabled in your project. Firmhouse shows translated copy directly inside the template editor, while preserving the Liquid translation tags that make the template switch languages for each customer. Translations are saved with a template version. This lets you preview translated copy together with the matching template changes before you publish them.

Edit translated copy

  1. Open Customer Portal > Templates.
  2. Select the template and saved version you want to edit.
  3. Choose a language from the language selector at the top of the editor.
  4. Edit the highlighted translated copy directly in the template.
  5. Switch to another language and repeat the previous step as needed.
  6. Click Save template.
The language selector contains the languages enabled in your project. If a translation has not been customized, the editor shows the Firmhouse default for that language. When the same translation appears more than once in a template, editing one occurrence updates the other occurrences that use the same translation key.

Make custom template text translatable

You can turn text that you added to a template into translated copy without writing a Liquid translation tag yourself.
  1. Select the text in the template editor.
  2. Right-click the selection.
  3. Click Create translation from selection.
  4. Choose each project language and enter the translated copy.
  5. Click Save template.
Firmhouse creates the translation key and keeps the underlying Liquid in sync. You can also find Create translation from selection in the editor command palette. Custom translations can contain placeholders such as %{name}. Keep the same placeholder in every language so Firmhouse can insert the correct customer or subscription value when the page renders.

Preview and publish translations

Use Preview latest package to test the newest saved templates and their translations together. Check every language and the relevant Customer Portal pages before publishing. When the copy is ready:
  1. Return to Customer Portal > Templates.
  2. Select the saved template version you tested.
  3. Click Publish.
Publishing makes both the template and its translations live for customers. Other saved versions keep their own translations.
