Payment methods on Shopify Checkout

Shopify natively supports Credit Cards and PayPal for subscription payments. However, Shopify does not support local European payment methods for recurring payments out of the box. Firmhouse adds the ability for Shopify merchants selling subscriptions to accept local payment methods. This enables you to offer payment options that your European customers prefer and trust. The following table shows which payment methods are available on Shopify Checkout: Note: Klarna is unfortunately not possible at the moment due to Shopify not supporting this payment method for recurring payments.

Mollie Shopify apps

To use Mollie as your local payment provider on Shopify Checkout, install the corresponding Mollie payment method apps:
Trustly availability: Firmhouse supports Trustly for stores that already have the Mollie Trustly app installed. The app is not currently available for new installations from the Shopify App Store.
To enable local payment methods for your Shopify store, follow the Set up iDEAL | Wero, SEPA and other local payment methods guide.

Payment methods outside of Shopify Checkout

When not using Shopify Checkout (for example, with a custom storefront or headless setup), Firmhouse supports a much wider range of payment methods through three payment providers: Mollie, Stripe, and Adyen. In this scenario, Firmhouse essentially supports all payment methods that these providers offer for recurring payments.
