In some cases you want to only collect someone’s direct debit permission via an initial payment of a small amount. For example, if you want someone to sign up but only start their subscription upon delivery of your services or products. In this case, you don’t want any discounts to be applied on this initial payment as would happen by default. Instead, you want a discount or discount code entered to take effect on your customer’s first real recurring charge.

Configuring the Setting

You can configure per Plan if you want any discounts to be applied on the initial payment.

Steps

  1. Go to Plans in the Firmhouse portal.
  2. Create a new Plan or edit an existing Plan.
  3. Under the Pricing section, find the Skip discount on the initial payment setting.
  4. Enable this setting if you want any automatic discounts or entered discount codes to be skipped for signing up to this Plan.
Skip discount on initial payment setting When this setting is enabled, discounts will only apply starting from the first recurring charge, not the initial authorization payment.
